Yes i know, its been a long long while since i blogged and its all because I have been bustling in this story called a wedding. My younger brother just got married and am still waiting on the sidelines! Just to preempt all the nuttiness I have been experiencing here is 1) a pix of the couple and 2) my wedding speech
ELDER SISTER'S WEDDING SPEECH!
As always I would like to start my speech by reminding myself of the 3 rules to a perfect speech. Stand up, speak up and then very quickly…shut up!
To My brother Kenneth! And Now, my sister Hawa!
Marriage is the perfection of what your love aimed at
And what a world has been opened for you to explore
What long adventure lies ahead
With you as man and wife!
How lovely that you got gaps,
YES, we all do, and the idea of marriage is to fill each others gaps.
What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are but how you deal with incompatibility.
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always
with the same person
Its not easy to keep marriage brimming
We come to love not by finding the perfect person,
but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly
So whenever you're wrong, admit it;
Whenever you're right, that is the time to go shhhh!
It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.
I am reliably informed that love is both blind and deaf, but marriage restores both senses.
What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are
joined for life
To strengthen each other in all labour,
to rest on each other in all sorrow,
to minister to each other in all pain,
to be one with each other in silence,
and create unspeakable moments to treasure
Remember, If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, it's because
they take better care of it. With that in mind…
Kenneth take care of Hawa, she comes from the closest part of your heart, your rib, your Eve.
Hawah, do take care of your Adam, for you are the only one in his garden of Eden. that is for sure.
Hawah, the whole family would like to say welcome home, for home indeed you are! Karibu sana nyumbani! Otahire Omuka!
To the new couple, do please remember that, coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.
Lastly for those of your looking to walk down the path hawa and Ken just walked my number is 0772…
Now what happened after me giving my number...just wait! Meanwhile i will be posting more pix soonest.
Tehehe!!!
