Jumping on a taxi heading to work (thats what we do...jump!) I secured my seat infront with the Driver. You know the beauty of doing so means one gets to reach the destination before the others.
I doubt though that this was the reason why on reaching Ntinda, a 'man of God' who happened to be known by the Driver and Conductor kept on insisting that he should seat infront regardless of the fact that it was full.
Three times he suggest with a hope that either of us (two passengers) would listen to his "God given voice" and shift to the back! Wapi , me! You wish. Well that made two of us because we both turned a totally deaf ear.
On we went until Bukoto and the 'Man of God' is literally itching in his seat and asks "can we seat atleast three of us infront?" plus the driver would make four!!!!!! Dont ask me what he was thinking cause i honestly dont know. Anyway, the "sheep" in control of the car knew better than that.
Then he quipped "anti you know as a pastor, seating behind does not go well with our title" I died! But kept quiet and hoped that the guy seated next to me would not only pay an even deafer ear but also ride all the way to town.
Unfortunately he had to get off at Kamwokya. You should have FELT the man of God sigh with relief and quickly leap to the front. I let him seat next to the driver. I was definately NOT going to be trapped in the cross fire of his "sermons" with the driver.
But off course i heard tit bits of it. You can guess what it was all about. Advice Advice and more advice on how the "sheep" should invest his money! The direction...
Oh boy! Reminded me of what Christ said.... Matthew 23:6-12
They like the most prominent place at evening meals and the front seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces and to be called Rabbi by men. Eish sister.. what was the Pastor's case. How could he want to squeeze in the front.
Besides is the pastor a financial advisor to give investment advice?? I read a book called " The Richest Man in Babylon" The advise they give is that don't go to a farmer to obtain advice on investments. Or a brick layer for advice on chicken farming...
The Pastor should have shown humility.. whats this nonsence of a pastor cannot sit behind...
