Mo and the Ocean

Yesterday after the meeting at the Kingdom hall, cruising home was Divine at the wheel and the car speakers nicely doing their thing with a good old song "careless whispers" by George Micheal.

And wow! that did send me down memory lane. By the ocean in Mombasa. I just crave for it. This particular song was a great reminder because one time during the good old half term holidays at Kanamai, as group of around 15 girls we just walked the shore singing Careless Whispers as loud as we could. Yeah! We even enjoyed the wind blowing thorough our stiff kinky african hair and felt like princesses.

How one does take things for granted! The fact that we could look through our class room windows at the ocean, sometimes letting our thoughts wonder as we watched a fisherman do his thing in the good old fashioned dhow.

How we would check out the burukenge (monitor lizards). Sometimes stroll down to water among the mangroove trees. Not forgetting Mohammed and his Kaimati.

I need to go home one fo these days!

Mombasa. Nakupenda zaidi!
