MARRIAGE -More than Death puts YOU apart!

I am chilling outside on the veranda Sunday afternoon, Micheal my neighbour is no, not washing, shining his car and his wife beautiful wife Cathy plops by my side on the cane chair.

The usual vibes of life and the next thing we are talking about is about Marriage and Divorce.

See, in recent times the papers have been ranting and raving about a certain MP (Member of Parliament what were you thinking eh!) who for some reason ditched his wife and on the very last day of the year decided to marry another one (younger and more funky off course)

The Anglican church agreed to conduct the wedding but the Pentecostal church, which had conducted the first one viewed the remarriage as an abomination oooh!

Apparently the man had split with the first wife and got legally divorced, so the 6 cows preserved for the celebration (I think the number was) had their death sentence confirmed whether Madam number 1 approved or not!!

Now, back to Kiwatule! My good neighbours apparently believed that even if you divorce a person as a result of their having committed adultery, you cannot marry someone else.

My hair stood on end (literally)

WHAT! that is so unfair, look here, the bugger opted to break what you had by going out, you have the right to cut off the relationship AND move on with your life.

I love the scriptures, and out they came!

Jesus' reply to a trick question by the Jewish Pharisees is amazing. In part he answered..."I say to you that whoever divorces his wife except on the grounds of fornication and marries another commits adultery.’” (Matt. 19:3-9, NW)

Meaning?. Apparently ones being yoked or "becoming one flesh" is through the sexual act. No wonder Paul later adds that "What! Do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? For, ‘The two,’ says he, ‘will be one flesh.’ —1 Cor. 6:15-19, NW.

So there, they compared with their version of the bible which stated the same, "except on grounds of fornication"

How glad I am that yes, much as Jehovah hates a divorcing, he is still "HUMANE" enough to understand that when it is no fault of yours, you have the option of getting on with your life if your spouse goes galavanting.

PHEW!
